FEBRUARY QUICK TIP----GOING FOR IT!!

OK. I admit it. There is a big goal that I have, a "dream" I have been talking about forever but I have not been doing much to move towards it. (Sound familiar?) I have distracted myself from taking steps, made excuses as to why I couldn't possibly do it right now, and I continue to believe that I have all the time in the world to accomplish it. Maybe I do. Or maybe I need to get my butt in gear and take action...Maybe the world needs for me to create what I am visualizing...

****
So, if this reminds you of something you have been putting off, putting aside or placing ever so far in the back of your mind in the hopes that it would just "create" itself, I challenge you to join me in taking action. Thinking about it is a good start. But that is often where it ends. What do we need to do to make it a reality?

1. Make it URGENT! Whatever it is you would like to accomplish must become just as important as those other "urgent" projects in your life. You know the ones: the dishes, the running around with the kids, the work projects...Schedule it in just like the rest of it.
2. Be aware of how you are looking at it. If the project is too scary, too big or overwhelming, you are naturally going to move away from it. How can you reframe it and have some fun? How exciting could you make the journey? What is the reward in accomplishing it?

3. Look for support and resources. I use to be the kind of person who would never ask anyone for help. Always wanted to do it all by myself. But I realized, we are all here to help one another...Life can be hard enough---connect with support and resources and make it EASIER!!

****
Lastly, staying accountable to someone (or yourself) can be an essential tool in creating your dreams. With that in mind, feel free to email me your goal and a timeline for it and I will support you via email.

And because I must practice what I preach, here goes. By the beginning of June, I would like to create a series of CD's and/or workbooks based on my empowerment workshops. Well, I guess now the work begins!!

Go for it & enjoy the journey!

Quick Tip----January

Well, here we are...about to begin another new year! Before we let 2007 go and embark on the journey before us, I thought I would pass along a little something I saw posted on a life coaching board by Marcia Dorfman. It is a very effective exercise to help us all take an inventory of what we have learned and help us to move forward to create our future. If we do not take a moment to reflect on the past and fail to create an intention for the future, the "new year" often gets away from us. Time slips by in a heartbeat and we forget to declare what we want from our lives.

So, let's take the moment back! Writing down the answers to these statements can be a powerful way to create your 2008.

2007 Wrap UP
---Something I learned that is making a difference in my life
---What I am most proud of
--A disappointment I am ready to let go
********

Now move on to Intentions...They help to keep us on track and in integrity.
---3 desires for 2008
---A commitment I am making TO MYSELF

I would also add that creating a statement of what you stand for in life can be a powerful beginning to aligning your intentions with your actions and ultimately enabling you to accomplish your new dreams for 2008.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
